Hope everyone had a great Christmas.
2011 was only the second season for the Essex Redbacks and was a great season for us with the AAA and Bronco teams reaching the BBF National Baseball Championships, the club achieving Clubmark status and being accepted onto the Jack Petchey Award scheme. The Redbacks youth section hosted the Hengelo Giants baseball team from the Netherlands and the Marl Sly Dogs from Germany. The seniors also once again competed against international opposition at the MEET tournament in the Netherlands. We also held several sessions with local cub scout groups and hosted the first Redbacks schools tournament.
None of this would be possible though without the support of all the players, parents and club supporters, and the club committee and officers would like to pass on our thanks to all of you for your support in 2011 and looking forward to seeing you again in 2012.
The 2011 season reviews below look back at some of the highlights of the season and looks forward to some of the plans for 2012. Hope you all enjoy reading these.
