Essex Redbacks Tee Ball Program
The Essex Redbacks Tee Ball is our baseball program for younger baseball player’s boys or girls aged 6 – 9 years.
What is Tee ball?
Tee ball is a fun, instructional game, designed to introduce younger children to the games of baseball and softball. It enables the younger player to learn the fundamentals of the game where the emphasis is on participation, coupled with fun learning and competition. Boys and girls play alongside each other.
T ball is played with a soft baseball and either hit from a Tee or soft tossed in to a batter by a coach.
Each season the Redbacks will arrange inter club friendly Tee Ball games with other local clubs to enable our younger players to play competitive games.
Tee Ball Training
Tee Ball Training will be held every Sunday morning (weather permitting) during the baseball season (April to September, see web site calendar) from 10.00 to 11.00am at the Redbacks Baseball Academy at Forest Glade FC, Billericay, Essex.
Tee Ball Training is also available indoors from October to March at James Hornsby School, Laindon, Basildon on Saturday afternoons every two to three weeks during the winter (see calendar for dates).
Our fully qualified coaches will be on hand to provide each child with instruction on Baseball / Tee ball basics and each session will end with a game.
All equipment will be supplied and children who come along to Tee ball sessions should wear and bring along the following:
- A Cap
- Suitable Trainers/boots – these can be football boots/blades or molded
- Tracksuit bottoms and or Sweatshirt/jacket (dependent on weather)
- Drink
- Sunscreen if sunny
It is our expectation that parents or guardians remain at baseball training whilst their children are at Tee Ball.
If your child is younger than 6 years but would still like to join then the Essex Redbacks youth coaches will assess the ability of your son or daughter to join the program.
The Tee Ball Coaches look forward to seeing you there!
