Redbacks receive sponsorship from Co-operative Funeralcare

Essex Redbacks Baseball Club has received sponsorshipFrom Co-operative Funeralcare to replace and purchase new baseball equipment at our Youth Academy and adult diamond.

Bill Sedgwick, the Essex Redbacks Sponsorship Director said, “This valuable contribution will go directly to replacing an old wooden L screen at our youth academy in Billericay and purchase of a new L screen for the Melbourne Park in Chelmsford as well as the purchase of much needed match balls”.

Sean started playing baseball after watching an exhibition game held at the Oval cricket ground in 1993 between minor league players of the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox. As a player his favoured positions are catcher, pitcher and 3rd base. Sean’s favourite player of all time is Cal Ripken Jr both for his “Iron Man” performances and records on the field and for his work off the field especially in promoting youth baseball around the world.
